Vampires have come out of the Coffin

Sookie Stackhouse is a telepath who lives in a world where vampires have come out to the public and become legal citizens since the Japanese developed a synthetic blood. TruBlood makes it possible for vampires to live in the open without the need to hunt humans for sustenance. Sookie always had a hard time with love because, well, seeing into the mind of your date no matter how sweet he just might seem is a little, shall we say, a bit of a turn off.

But one night her world is changed forever when a Vampire named Bill strides into Merlotte's, the bar she works at. Her first vampire she's ever seen and to her surprise she finds something completely alluring about him. Its not consumed by his adorable looks or the longing in his eyes...no. It because for the first time in her life she cannot hear someone's mind...

This is personally my favorite vampire series ive read, and i've read a bunch.
HBO is soon to be on its Third season of Trueblood, the sow adaptation of the books. The books and the show are very different especially in point of view because the books are all in Sookie's point of view not her brothers which sometimes dominated the show.
(Fair warning the show is for very mature audiences)

I use to love watching the TV Show. Until my mom took away HBO. Sad

Everyone loved these books but I read the first one, then watched the series, then started reading them again and I really couldn't get on with them They just didn't catch me like most books do.

(Please don't shoot me True Blood fans!)

I enjoyed the first one and most of the second one but then I started to lose intrest. I carried on reading but it was more of an effort and I prefer to enjoy what I read rather than forcing myself to do so.
