PostThe Dark Divine by Bree Despain

A prodigal son. A dangerous love. A deadly secret.
The Dark Divine
Bree Despain

I stood back and watched his movements. Daniel had that way about him that could shut me down in an instant. . . . I kicked the gravel a couple of times and worked up my courage again. “Tell me . . . I mean . . . why did you come back? Why now, after all this time?”

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared—the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in blood. But she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night really held. And when Daniel returns three years later, Grace can no longer deny her attraction to him, despite promising Jude she’ll stay away.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, her actions stir the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind Jude and Daniel's dark secret . . . and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it—her soul.

First Impression: I had wanted this book for a very long time. Before the book came out. So I got around to finally getting it in my hands. I just finished it and I just needed to write a review. It was a magical book. Very very good! And loveling! Plus the book drew me to it as well. At first I didn't know what it meant. But after you read it, you'll know what it means.

Characters: Grace and Daniel. The most loving characters I have read in a long time! Daniel is just loving. At first he might be a jerk and all. But there's a soft side to him. Plus the relationship between Grace and Daniel is one of a kind. Better than Edward and Bella from Twilight! I absolutely LOVED the Grace/Daniel pairing in here. Stomach butterflies and all. The chemistry and impossibility of a current relationship is a huge, lovely rush.

Writing Style: The writing style was well done. The author knew the story and knew her characters well. The dialgoue between the two characters, Grace and Daniel, was loving. The writing was so good that I got emotional in some parts. The relationship she bulit with words is breath taking. But there were some parts I thought could've been improved. Loving!

Like/Dislike: It's weird because for some reason I have no complaints. Other than the religous parts to it. But even those religious parts were amazing. It build to the story and plot!

Final Thoughts: Daniel and Grace= I love you I can't wait for The Last Saint!

Recommend: Defenetely! Please! Please! Read it! You won't regret buying/read it! Or "wasting" for time, like most people put it! There is a secret, but I won't say without giving the whole book away! Find out for yourself!

Upcoming Review:

"Just like your eyes. You're like a song that I heard when I was a little kid but forgot I knew until I heard it again"
