Shiver
by Maggie Stiefavter

Genre:
Fiction, Wolves

My Review:
Shiver first caught my eye in B&N. I read the back cover and I was interested in what story Maggie Stiefavter had written. I didn't start reading it untill it became the BOTM here at YABC. I fell in love with it after the first few chapters. I couldn't put it down at all that it got to the point where I would be up late saying 'one more chapter' [which means two to three more chapters by accident]. It was beautifully written and the fact that it changes point of view keeps it interesting. The pictures that formed in my head with the descriptions of everything were beyond words. There is no way that they would ever create what Maggie has put down on paper on screen if they tried. The best portal to see what I saw is through the pages of Shiver. You don't need a cold breeze to give you the goosebumps I got from this book.

Characters:
Grace - Main character. A girl with a history with the wolves in her back yard and a love for one of them.
Sam - Main character. A boy who is fighting to keep himself, even if it means his death.
Olivia - Quiet, smart and artistic. She lives by her camera and shares a similar interest in the wolves as Grace does.
Rachel - The glue that keeps Olivia and Grace together.
Jack - A boy from grace's high school who threatens the safety of the wolves.
Isabel - Jack's sister.

My Rating:

5/5 Hoof prints

There is a difference between Beauty and True Beauty. Beauty is visual, vanity. True Beauty is felt, with the heart. It fills you in ways you never thought it would.
