NORMAL EIGHTH-GRADE STUDENT
OR POWERFUL VAMPIRE?Eigth Grade Bites
Heather Brewer
Junior high really stinks for thirteen-year-old Vladimir
Tod. Bullies harass him, the principal is dogging him, and
the girl he likes prefers his best friend. Oh, and Vlad has
a secret: His mother was human, but his father was a vampire.
With no idea of the extent of his powers and no one to teach him,
Vlad struggles daily with his blood cravings and his enlarged
fangs. When a strange subsitute teacher begins to question
him a little too closely, Vlad worries that his cover is about to be
blown. But then he realizes he has a much bigger problem: He's
being hunted by a vampire killer who's closing in... fast! This
first book in this ghoulishly funny series leads readers on a nail-
bitting adventure that is filled with dark charcters and mythical
glyphs, secret identites and hidden agendas, unearthly powers
and teenage angst.
Charcters: Vlad Tod, the vampire/human he's trying to keep his vampirism under cover. Henry, the sidekick, Vlad's bff. Otis Otis, the possible villon, Vlad thinks he's responisble for the killings.
Journey/Story: Vlad trys to live a normal life while a vampire killer is closing in. He must keep his friends close and his enemies closer but what happens if his enemies are his friends?
This is probably one of the funniest and suspenseful books I've read in my life. Mrs. Brewer is very melancholy with her story line but has a lot of humor and suspense to make up for it. I absolutly love this book and will deafintly be getting Ninth Grade Slays(right?). I recomend this book to everyone.
